Interlibrary Loan Requests

Current Central Michigan University students, faculty, staff, and emeriti may request materials NOT OWNED by the CMU Libraries.

On-Campus Faculty: Select this option to submit Desktop Delivery requests.

Before ordering, please search our online catalog, CENTRA, for the journal title you are requesting.

Request a Book via ...

MeLCat Use MeLCat to request materials from a growing number of libraries statewide.
  1. Search CENTRA for your book.
  2. If your book is not found or is not available, click on the "Search
    MeLCat" button.
  3. When you find your title in MeLCat click on "Request this Item".
  4. Follow the on-screen directions to select your home library; then, enter your name and Campus ID number.
  5. You will be notified when the item arrives. Most items arrive within 3-5 business days.
WorldCat Current Central Michigan University students, faculty, and staff may request materials NOT OWNED by the CMU Libraries.
  1. Search CENTRA for your book.
  2. Connect to WorldCat, and search by title for your book.
  3. Click on the book title. If there are multiple entries for the same book, choose the one owned by the most libraries.
  4. Click on the Find it! button.
  5. Follow the link to Request this item from another library.
  6. Check to make sure that all necessary information is included in the form, and then click the Submit Request button.
  7. You will be notified when the item arrives.
